JACQUES VILLENEUVE GRAND PRIX DE MIRABEL: READY TO ROLL ON JUNE 27th and 28th AT CIRCUIT ICAR!
June 21st , Mirabel (Québec) : Circuit ICAR, an ultra modern motorsport complex located in Mirabel, is proud to host Jacques Villeneuve’s Grand Prix of Mirabel for the second consecutive year on June 27th and 28th. The weekend will be packed with action with series like the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship (CCTCC), the Formula Tour 1600 and the FSAQ GT-Sprint. Motorsports fans are invited to watch the best drivers battle it out in their respective category on ICAR’s new track layout. The drivers will fight hard to climb on the top step of the podium. “The new layout will certainly surprise many drivers. It will be a great show,” promises Louis-Philippe Gélinas, Vice president at ICAR. Circuit ICAR is a fantastic track which suits perfectly with the type of cars that run in our championship. We have an even larger grid of cars this year which pretty much guarantees a lot of on-track action,” explains CCTCC’s John Bondar.
The spectators on hand will be able to win hot laps in one of ICAR’s Academy Mustangs with Jacques Villeneuve in the driver’s seat. “The lucky winners will really get a ride of a lifetime,” says the 1997 World Driving champion.
ICAR will also host it’s new Jacques Villeneuve iLAP Championship. The championship aims to discover talented drivers and help them race their way up to automobile racing. The program provides high level competition with a unique format because its karts are equipped with a unique driver normalization weight technology system for equitable and fair racing. The winner of the iLAP Jacques Villeneuve Championship will win a driving training in a Formula ICAR Open-Wheel car with Jacques Villeneuve has an instructor!
Drag fans will be thrilled to assist Saturday night to the Dragnights by Montreal Racing that will take place on ICAR’s new quarter mile drag strip.
Tickets for Jacques Villeneuve’s Grand Prix of Mirabel are on sale on ICAR’s website : www.circuiticar.com. Tickets start at 15$.
Spectators will be able to visit the paddocks, watch the racing from up close and even do some karting on the 1km long karting track designed by Jacques Villeneuve.
