JACQUES VILLENEUVE TO TAKE PART IN THE CHAMPIONNAT DU QUÉBEC KARTING EVENT ON AUGUST 23RD AT CIRCUIT ICAR !

July 30th, 2009 - Mirabel (Québec): Circuit ICAR is extremely pleased to announce that Jacques Villeneuve will participate in the Championnat du Québec karting event held at the track he designed on August 23rd. The 1997 Formula 1 World Champion will take the green flag in 2 categories: the Rotax Senior, the headlining race and Rotax DD2.

Jacques Villeneuve is racing in karting, an excellent way into motorsports and the first step to the top. “I’m also having a great deal of fun out there. It is like I’m making up for lost time”, indicates Villeneuve who unlike many high calibre drivers did not start his career in karting but in Italian Formula 3.

Racing fans are obviously encouraged to come on August 21 to 23 to watch tomorrow’s racing stars at the Championnat du Québec event at Circuit ICAR. Also, the 4 finals of the Coupe de Montréal, which could not be held last May 16th due to inclement weather, will be held on August 22nd in the evening.
