How do I get started in Karting?
By reading this you have taken the first step!
The internet is a wonderful research tool but at one point you will have to talk with a specialist who can answer your numerous questions. The best place to start is a racing school, your local Karting dealership and your local Karting track.
To enroll in a kart racing school is by far the smartest and cheapest way to start, because all the equipment is provided. Furthermore, you will obtain not only all the information about driving techniques but also how to maintain your kart and the races that you can enter and type of kart you need to buy as well. People who are working in that industry are very passionate and they will help you make the right decisions as far as buying the right equipment for you either new or used according to your budget. This small investment will save you hundreds even thousands of dollars! They will make sure that you are buying the right kart for you!
Buying a used kart on Ebay without knowing if it is still being raced at your local track and if parts are still available can be a very costly mistake! Do your research, be patient and make the right choice!
At what age can we start Karting and compete?
At age five and good news there is no maximum age!
What kind of speed can race karts reach?
Depending on the type of kart and drivers age between 30 to 130kmh.
Is Karting a dangerous sport?
Just like any other sports it can be. But with the mandatory wear of proper driver safety gear, along with a mandatory racing school and a kart that is periodically maintain the risks are considerably lowered.
Am I obligated to compete in races?
Not at all, you can drive during our numerous practice days.
But beware that soon enough you will want to compete yourself!
